‘We are building a tradition anchored in Indian storytelling through animation," says Gaurav Banerjee on bringing animated stories to life on Disney+Hotstar.

In the enigmatic world of animation, Disney+ Hotstar stands out for bringing the most exciting stories to life. With hits like The Legend of Hanuman, the streaming platform has already proven its genius with another epic adventure as Baahubali: Crown of Blood premieres on May 17th.

This animated series transports viewers to a time of epic clashes between empires, where Baahubali and Bhallaladeva join forces to defend the kingdom of Mahishmati against a formidable threat. Produced by Graphic India and Arka Mediaworks Production Pvt Ltd, and spearheaded by visionary filmmaker S.S. Rajamouli, along with Sharad Devarajan & Shobu Yarlagadda, and directed and produced by Jeevan J. Kang & Navin John, the series promises to be a visual treat. With Disney+ Hotstar's commitment to top-notch animation, this collaboration brings together the best in the industry to create an unforgettable watch.

Gaurav Banerjee, Head - Content, Disney+ Hotstar & HSM Entertainment Network, Disney Star, elaborating on the same said, "No animation series has really connected with huge audiences on a streaming platform, film, or TV. As part of Disney, we run a lot of channels with animation made outside of our country. There aren't many examples that use our heritage, storytelling traditions, and Indian animators. We had to buy into the belief that this could become mainstream in India. Over the last six-seven years, we've built this out, starting with The Legend of Hanuman. Now with Baahubali: Crown of Blood, we are building a tradition anchored in Indian storytelling through animation. It's a revolution that has truly started, and we are hopeful it gathers pace. When I saw Baahubali, I was enchanted by something I had never seen before. Through a friend, I got an opportunity to connect with Prasad and their partner to understand what they had done and to learn from them."

Get ready to witness a new chapter in the Baahubali legacy with Baahubali: Crown of Blood streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from May 17, 2024.
