Ritvik Sahore
Shedding his schoolboy image, Ritvik Sahore - who started his career as a child artiste in 'Ferrari Ki Sawaari' (2012) - is gearing up for the release of Indori Ishq. In telling the story of Sahore's Kunal and Vedika Bhandari's Tara, the MX Player series will examine the dark side of unrequited love. "With my last few projects, I felt as if I was doing similar roles. I wanted to move out of my comfort zone. When I read the story of Indori Ishq, I was sold. The best part is that it is based on the writer's [Kunal Marathe] life. I couldn't believe that one person could go through so many [tribulations] in a lifetime," states Sahore.
The actor acknowledges that his grey role may remind one of Shah Rukh Khan from Darr [1993] and Dhanush from Raanjhana [2013]. "I believe it is a mix of both. But the twist in the story [is different]. My character Kunal is ridiculed for ruining his life over Tara, who has been unfaithful to him." In a world where people are quick to ape the behaviour depicted on screen, Sahore says they've taken care not to glorify his character's choices. "We have been morally responsible while being honest to the story by not advocating [his behaviour or choices]. We [don't intend to] influence people to do the wrong things. [That said], people should watch it as a source of entertainment."
His upcoming endeavour has him sporting a full-grown beard. Does that mean Sahore is leaving his schoolboy image behind for good? "I have season three of Flames coming up, which sees me playing a shy, innocent school boy. That's the best part about acting. You can be anyone, anytime."
