Nepotism ke mukhaute ke picche, akhar mein har outsider, insider banna chahta hai. Disney+ Hotstar and Dharmatic Entertainment unveil the trailer of their much awaited series, 'Showtime.' The money, the business, the glamour, the relationships, the lifestyle, the inside scoop on all of Bollywood's best-kept secrets, it is apower pack of everything.
'Showtime' is releasing exclusively on 8th March on Disney+ Hotstar. It is helmed by Emraan Hashmi, Mahima Makwana with Mouni Roy, Rajeev Khandelwal, Shriya Saran, Vishal Vashishtha, Neeraj Madhav, Vijay Raaz and Naseeruddin Shah in pivotal roles.
Created by Sumit Roy, directed by showrunner Mihir Desai and Archit Kumar with the screenplay written by Sumit Roy, Mithun Gangopadhyay and Lara Chandni and dialogues penned by Jehan Handa and Karan Shrikant Sharma.
The most important aspect of making a project is the correct casting of actors, especially the leads. Here is why the creators of 'Showtime' made the conscious decision of casting Mahima Makwana in the main lead alongside Emraan Hashmi.

Talking about the same, Mihir Desai said, "The challenge of casting is always believeability and for Mahika Nandy's character we wanted to cast someone who is new, young and doesn't have the baggage of someone established. Only then would the audiences' empathy for an outsider be believable."
"The David vs Goliath story of two warring producers is more fun to watch because of this particular casting. A brash, experienced swag se bhara Raghu aka Emraan Hashmi versus a fiesty rookie Mahika Nandy aka Mahima Makwana. We auditioned many and Mahima's audition was closest to the character that Sumit Roy imagined."
Show lead, Emraan, also talked about his character in the film, "I don't think I can play a completely clean, righteous person from at least my screen image. Part and parcel of it is a little bit because of the way I look. People feel that there is always something devious going on and from my first film it's not like I chose these roles."
The actor further mentioned, "These roles were in the beginning of a career, you can't really be picky and choosy. They were thrust upon me and I made the best out of it. The audience kind of also accepted me in characters that have these grey shades, there's a redemption to the characters, they have an interesting arc, they're not squeaky clean righteous."
'Showtime' will be releasing on 8th March, 2024, only on Disney+ Hotstar.
