Swara Bhasker in one of her distinct avatar for the show
Swara Bhasker had a busy 2020 with three web series - if she tackled a coming-of-age drama in Rasbhari, Flesh and Bhaag Beanie Bhaag had her attempting a thriller and a romantic comedy respectively. The new year has brought forth a new genre for the actor. She will headline the horror-comedy, Aapke Kamrey Mein Koi Rehta Hai.
Interestingly, the five-part series will see Bhasker sport multiple get-ups - from the modern office-going woman to a geeky look with short hair and thick glasses.
Sharing two of her avatars with mid-day, the actor says, "I wanted to chop my tresses for the short-haired look, but it wasn't possible as I was shooting for other projects. So, we tried five wigs and different coloured lenses before zeroing in on this [get-up]. There's a back-story to why my character looks this way."
Also featuring Sumeet Vyas, Naveen Kasturia, Amol Parashar and Ashish Verma, the MXPlayer offering revolves around four friends who find a four-bedroom apartment in Mumbai at a measly rent. Their joy, however, is short-lived as they soon realise that the flat is haunted. "Picking roles that belong to varied genres has always been important to me. The idea is to try things you haven't done before; it keeps your passion for the craft alive," says Bhasker.
