A shocking second wave of coronavirus in India has seen hospitals and crematoriums inundated and extensive scarcities of oxygen and medicines. Record numbers of cases and deaths have been there in the country and the deaths and case numbers in India are carrying on to rise fast, stimulated by a new variant. India is on a daily basis making new records with COVID. The country has a never-ending shortage of space on its intensive care wards, with several patients' families forced to drive for miles to try to find a bed for their dear one. A few streets outside medical facilities have become jam-packed with the seriously ill, their dear ones trying to arrange oxygen supplies and stretchers for them as they beg with hospital authorities for a place within.

Despite a Delhi court declaring that India is in the grip of a "tsunami" and hospitals turning patients away because of lack of beds and oxygen, people in many parts of India are either avoiding or unable to access research.

According to Dr. Manas Gumta, general secretary of the Association of Health Service Doctors in West Bengal, the government's figures on Covid infections are an underestimation.

"A large number of alleged Covid-positive people are avoiding the tests. I assume the true number of Covid deaths is two to three times greater than government reports. Furthermore, the number of infections may be up to five times higher than what Indian authorities are reporting."

India's daily Covid deaths and infections set new records, but doctors and bereaved families have cautioned that even these grim official figures are grossly underestimating the country's tragedy.

Technology that help in COVID

Technology cannot stop the onset of the pandemics; but, it can assist stopping the spread, warn, educate, and empower those on the ground to be aware of the circumstances, and clearly lessen the impact. Misinformation about the fatalities number, treatment options, diagnosis, medicines, vaccines, government policies, etc., creates more fright and nervousness among the population. The consequence can be extensive disorder, panic buying, hoarding of important commodities, violence on the streets, price rise, conspiracy theories, discrimination, and so on. To decrease false information, several global companies are working tirelessly to direct people to the right, provable information such as that published by WHO or local authorities and government. By making correct information available to everybody, a clear scenario can be created and the individuals can be informed about the correct steps to take.

As the covid-19 pandemic rages, technologists everywhere have been rushing to build apps, services, and systems for contact tracing: identifying and notifying all those who come in contact with a carrier. This apps are helping us in tracking Covid infection in our near area. One of those app is developed by Indian developer name Faizal Khan who lived in Delhi and by profession he is an entrepreneur. This app ‘COVID GO' provides all updates related covid-19, clearing myths related covid virus, covid possible symptoms and their prevention techniques, and also helping millions to get real-time resources available.

The main objective of this app is to save the life of the people to prevent them from dying from lack of resources such as beds, oxygen, medicine, and food etc. Faizal Khan has in fact received appraisal from several peoples for launching this app as this has turned out to be life saver. For Faizal Khan this is the best feeling in the world. Nothing in this world is better than saving lives.

Lack of COVID Resources

Doctors are in the lead of the battle against COVID-19 pandemic which has now affected several lakhs of people in India and has claimed thousands of lives. With reports of doctors and para-medical members getting contaminated by COVID-19 coming into the light, the center of attention has now moved to these courageous souls. COVID 19 is highly transmittable and hence to treat the doctors, patients, and para-medical staff has to wear PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) which includes goggles, protective clothing, gloves etc. But these are in short supply and expensive and healthcare workers are under pressure to conserve resources. Apart from this, the necessities of patients like oxygen, ventilators, and medicines are also short in supply.

A slew of mobile apps has been published in recent months in an attempt to "flatten the curve" of the growing number of COVID-19 accidents.

For preparation, knowledge sharing, risk assessment, self-management of symptoms, contact tracking, home surveillance, and decision making, mobile applications have been introduced, quickly providing useful and accessible resources for managing the COVID-19 pandemic.

People, health practitioners, and policymakers consider mobile applications a powerful tool for addressing crucial challenges raised by the pandemic, such as reducing the burden on hospitals, providing access to reliable information, monitoring individual symptoms and mental health, and finding new predictors.
