Love dogs and can't get enough of them? Welcome to Dogspotting, a sport or a lifestyle, if you may, which involves spotting random dogs.
What started as a public Facebook page has now burgeoned into a community that currently has over 4,56,000 members. The 'game' is easy: spot a dog, take a photo (ensure there's no human being in the frame or else blur out their face) write a line about the dog - where it was spotted or the name/ breed, and upload it with a rating. Other members also help with the rating by adding points for important factors like soft coat, tail speed record or ears that look like baby hash browns.

The page features dogs out on the streets, waiting for their owners outside stores and restaurants; in baby strollers; in university classrooms; in the train; on treks; at farmer's markets...practically everywhere.
Extra marks for style
Like any game, you have to follow rules. You cannot post a picture of your own dog or a dog that you know or have met before. There's an app too, and is available across social media. You can also buy Dogspotting gear from their Shopify page.
