In every curvature within India, the party spell dwindles after New Year's Eve. But in Goa, the math is different. The pull of the beach is not just for travellers, but also event planners. GOAT Music, a London-based music and events agency, is the new tourist on the coastline. They are set to inaugurate the first edition of the GOAT festival, a three-day intimate boutique, music and arts carnival.

The idea of the fair is to create a confluence of the contemporary and the traditional. Music and arts will bridge the gap between East and West. Gilles Peterson is a titanic name in the assorted line-up. The 52-year-old British DJ's recruitment with BBC Radio 1 changed his fortune. Since 2012, he has been hosting a three-hour music show on Saturdays. His sound ranges from Afro to Soul.

James Priesley, known for tracks like Chariot, Speed and Falling, is another luminary in the list. But hold on, there are a couple of Indian names that will let you flaunt your roots to the foreigners. Sarathy Korwar - who spent hours with the migrant Siddi people of South India and Gujarat to record their chants and conversations to incorporate them in his music - is an act to watch out for. His album, Day To Day, impressed listeners globally. Delhi Sultanate, the vocalist of The Ska Vengers, will provide a perfect balance to Korwar's tunes.
Marbles and Ware Collective, experts in storytelling and theatricality along with art and craft, will set up a costume stall and a jungle garden for their sessions.
