Over the weekend, theatre artiste Akriti Singh will spook you with real-life ghost stories
"I feel ghost stories create an ambience. You can create a parallel world with words. It requires an intimate setting and is very different from doing a play. The audience can feel what I felt," shares Singh, who will narrate four stories that she has heard from people close to her, and one from an incident she experienced personally.
"One of the stories that was narrated to me is by an architect friend who experienced a supernatural phenomenon while he was renovating a site. My own experience is not exactly about a ghost, but being in a time warp," she says, not wanting to divulge too much.
The narration will be in English with no use of music or multimedia. When we ask if she has tried narrating these stories to her friends and family, Singh laughs, "Recently I was narrating one of the stories to a friend while we were at a restaurant in Andheri and I got immersed in the story. Someone passed by outside the window and I got quite a scare!"
