Finding humour in the lockdown or the pandemic is not easy. But comedians can be trusted to spread a few laughs even when everyone is restless and stuck at home. Over the last year, comics have been doing their best to keep us entertained with engaging content day after day on social media. It was a healthy distraction to keep themselves - and us - sane.
Some comedians started the trend of live-streaming their daily activities, with a dash of humour of course, and had their audience in splits. During the deadly second wave too, a few of them used laughter as a means to comfort people. Comedian Amit Tandon hosted exclusive shows for Covid positive people who were staying alone, and comic Anshu Mor performed free online shows for doctors and nurses, for instance.
There is still some time before venues open up and audiences can catch their favourite comics live. But that should not keep you from attending their performances virtually. Here are a few comedy gigs to catch this weekend from your home.

Yes, the name of the show reflects the present mode in which most of us are operating. However, here you will only be required to enjoy from home, not work. This show is unique because it blends comedy and magic. Karan Chauhan, touted to be India's first and only comedian/illusionist, is all set to entertain you. He is a two-time winner of Medal of Merlin for stage magic in the US, so expect a dazzling act from him. Along with hearing quips, you will get to see some sleight of hand too.

Gainfully Employed
American comedian WC Fields had once said, "Comedy is a serious business". It isn't an easy one either. To come up with new and fresh jokes, it takes a lot of time and hard work. Well-known comedian Punit Pania is aware of that. He spent nearly a decade working in the corporate sector, before he decided to be a stand-up comedian. Pania's comedy show, âGainfully Employed', features some of the best jokes about his time as a corporate employee to his current âjob' as a stand-up comic. This particular set has been performed in the city earlier as well, but if you missed his live performance, this is your chance to catch it again.
