Lollapalooza India 2024 has unveiled its first look ahead of the two-day festival at the Mahalaxmi Racecourse in Mumbai on January 27-28 this weekend. People from all over India will be travelling to the island city to witness some of their favourite Indian and international artists live over two days. It will see some of the biggest international artists like Sting, Jonas Brothers and One Republic, as well as Indian artists like When Chai Met Toast and Karan Kanchan, among others.
The 14-foot-tall masterpiece is called 'Music Mandala' and has been done by BookASmile, the charity initiative of BookMyShow, which has also co-produced the festival in India. The installation aims to symbolise the entertainment platform's commitment to embody accessibility for all.
It is not only a visual delight but is also a pledge to refurbish musical instruments and share them with deserving and aspiring young music artists from underserved and underprivileged backgrounds to hone their talents to further their dreams of pursuing a career in the field of music.
A year after the international festival had a resounding reception in its first year, it is back for its second edition in India. Lollapalooza India 2024 announced the all-star full lineup in November last year, and they will be performing across four stages with close to 20 hours of music. Along with headliners like the evergreen Sting to the peppy Jonas Brothers and One Republic, the lineup includes some of the biggest artists in the world like Lauv, Halsey, Keane and Anoushka Shankar, along with other international artists like Jungle, Meduza and JPEGMAFIA. It will not only see Korean stars like The Rose and Eric Nam but also African artist Fatoumata Diawara take to the stage, and even American DJ Kenny Beatz take to the stage.
