Just like the majority of mothers, Padma Iyer wanted to see her son happily married. The only difference lay that Mrs Iyer wasn’t looking for a bride but a groom for her son. In May 2015, an ad published in the Mid-Day newspaper created a huge stir. This groundbreaking ad by Mrs Iyer was India’s first gay matrimonial ad.
