Know of a young, aspiring writer? Get them to participate in a competition in which they get the chance to have their work published as part of a graphic novel anthology, as well as win some serious prizes

If you know someone studying in classes V to IX, who has a flair for the written word, they could be the The Campfire Young Writer of the Year.



Campfire is a company that offers Graphic Novels. They have titles under sections including Mythology, biographies and classics. Classics include Alice in Wonderland, Gulliver's Travels and Frankenstein.

Titles under mythology include Ravana: Roar of the Demon King, Legend: The Labours of Heracles and Jason and the Argonauts. Their Originals line showcases new characters and stories from their in-house team of graphic novelists and illustrators.

To participate, all students need to do is to write an original, fictional story that is less than 2,000 words, log on to the Campfire website and submit their application online before March 15, 2012.

Prizes include iPads and Android tablets. Winners from each class will have their stories published in an anthology. Each winning entry will be adapted into a graphic novel format and include illustrations by members of the Campfire team.
