Twilight hotster Robert Pattinson inspires a whole range of M&S chaddis. Here's how some other hot bods cover up their family jewels

Twilight hotster Robert Pattinson inspires a whole range of M&S chaddis. Here's how some other hot bods cover up their family jewels

He has inspired a whole generation of tweens (who now emulate a vampire way of life), magazine covers, movies that are setting the cash drawers ringing and life-sized cut-outs. Even as another movie in the Twilight series releases today, the anaemic-looking delicious actor comes as the inspiration for Marks and Spencer undies.

The campaign has been designed to appeal to a younger audience and to sex-up its underwear range. The slim-fit version of the classic underpants, the R-pant as it's hilariously titled, comes in a low-rise, slim-fit brief or trunk option meant to be worn under skinny jeans and trousers. Here's a down-under guide for all you guys.

The Style: Tighty whity briefs
The Stars: Football player David Beckham and actor Djimon Hounsou

Soccer stud David Beckham may have been replaced by Cristiano Ronaldo for Emporio Armani, but nobody can take away from the fact that Becks singlehandedly converted boring, white briefs into something that prompted a near-hysterical reaction when the line was unveiled.
For those who prefer to squeeze their impressive package into tight white briefs, go for cotton-rich and Lurex-stitched pearly whites. Excuse the digital ball-tampering in the image, please.

The Style: Peeping Tom boxer briefs
The Star: Nelly

Rapper Nelly gives us more to imagine in this Sean Combs' Sean John underwear ad, but if sagging pants are your style, make sure the boxer briefs cover up your jewels in case those super-loose pants give way. If you are not the sort who'd wear fly-away boxers, but don't want to compromise on the coverage either, you've found your match in these cotton boxer briefs.

The Style:u00a0 Slim Fit Boxer shorts
The Star: Thierry Henry

Featured in a limited-edition Tommy Hilfiger Capsule line from several seasons back, the French soccer phenomenon comes across as someone quite sexless in these boring shorts in a boring shoot, but he promises that these drawers are characterised by 'fresh, clean, aesthetic and unique detailing'. This way you get the loose, unstructured fit of boxer shorts, combined with sleek, slim styling. Any takers?

The Style:u00a0 Boxer Shorts
The Star: Ranbir Kapoor

For men who like to hang it loose, cute boxer shorts like the one Ranbir sports in Wake Up Sid do the trick. With unfettered movement and plenty of room, you can say bye-bye to excessive sweat and a desire to tug at your chaddis in public. Some fertility experts say that since boxers allow for the royal jewels to hang away from the body, there's favourably unobstructed blood flow to the ding-dong.

The Style:u00a0 Low-rise trunks
The Star: Actor Kellan Lutz, Football star Cristiano Ronaldo

R Patz' fellow Twilight star Kellan Lutz (Emmett Cullen in the movies) stripped down to his skivvies as an underwear model. The style he sports here has a delicious, body-defining fit, is made of smooth, breatheable microfiber and has a pouch front. The provocative range has a wide waistband with the brand name in capitals and an X patch on the centre front, just so you know where to gawk if you get past Lutz' superbly-chiselled body.
How did Lutz prepare for the job? He says stuffing candy helped him fight the hunger for higher-calorie foods.

Never get caught in
A loincloth, like Sean Connery

You might have always wanted to do a Sean Connery but check him out in this still from a 1974-masterpeice, Zardoz, where the veteran scampers around in a bright red loincloth held up by bandit suspenders, and a hippie ponytail. Shudder.
