Dear Diana
Dear Diana,
Every night, my husband spends time chatting with girls on the net. He says it is harmless fun and nothing will come of it because he does not reveal his true identity. I'm not happy with this as it means no conversation between us so the evenings drag and I am glued to the TV soaps. This is a recent addiction. He justifies his stand by saying that he's a sociable person and as he has three sisters, he finds he gets on better with girls than men. But the thought that he logs in to a dating website is a big put off for me. I hate it and he knows it upsets me, but he keeps doing it. He says there's nothing wrong with talking but it'll only take one girl to meet him and I'll lose him for good. He says this won't happen, but how can he be so sure? I'm scared of losing him, but I can't stop him. What should I do?

Dear Ishani,
Your husband may say it is a guy thing and he is doing it for kicks. But his harmless fun can soon turn harmful for you. He appears to be addicted to online chatting with females. From the looks of it, he is having a cyber affair. One thing can lead to another especially if they have exchanged photographs. You state that this is a recent happening, so has your marriage lost its spark that is making your guy turn elsewhere? Look at what has made him addicted to sex chats. Bring back the romance in your marriage. Talk to him that his casual chatting could lead to more serious stuff as he is addicted to it every night. He needs to stop and you have to tell him so in no uncertain terms.
