The British motorcycle manufacturer has recently launched the street triple and its bigger sibling, the speed triple, is just around the corner
Triumph entered the Indian market in 2013 and since then, it has always been on the moneyas far as sales are to be considered. The 67 per cent jump in demand it received in 2016 justifies the statement. The manufacturer is now all set to launch the 2017 Speed Triple, the flagship motorcycle from Triumph in the naked bike segment. The Triumph Speed Triple was first showcased at the 2015 EICMA motor show in Milan, Italy. The new motorcycle carries forward the same design language as the previous bike but gets sharper lines with more detailing.
The bike is powered by an upsized 1050cc, triple-cylinder engine which develops 140PS @ 9500rpm and a peak torque of 112Nm @ 7850rpm, mated to a six-speed gearbox. It gets sharper looking headlamps, built-in DRLs, LED turn indicators, twin seats, bar-end mirrors, narrower and sharper looking fuel tank and dual matt black under seat exhaust with aluminium heat shields. The bike is constructed around a twin-spar frame. Suspension duties are handled by 43mm Showa USD forks with 120mm travel at the front and Showa monoshock unit with 130mm travel at the rear.
