Taking inspiration from America-born Bobbers, the Triumph Bonneville Bobber is an interesting addition of the modern classics line-up
Triumph Motorcycles has unveiled its new modern classic machine, which is an all-new Bonneville Bobber. Inspired by classic American bobbers, this new British motorcycle is quite different from all of its siblings. The bike stays true to its name, featuring proper characteristics of a bobber in the all-new hardtail look frame with a hidden rear suspension. It has a low stance with single adjustable seat, smaller headlamp and chopped fenders which further complement the overall design.
Apart from the appearance, light weight and big torque are the other characteristics of a bobber. Hence, the new Triumph Bonneville Bobber gets a minimalistic bodywork with the 1,200cc 'high-torque' engine from the Bonneville T120, which has been retuned to deliver even more torque with slightly lesser power. The electronic updates along with the new dual airbox further change the way of performance delivery. The iconic Bonneville's peashooter silencers have also been replaced with new, shorter mufflers.

The single seat of the Bonneville Bobber is adjustable between two positions -- low-back and high-forward -- so one can keep it according to the requirement. The caged swingarm, flat handlebar, stainless steel strap on the battery box, bar-end mirrors and the rear mudguard loop completes the package of detailing. The fuel tank has also been reshaped to gel with the overall design of the Bobber. The hidden suspension underneath the seat is a specially designed linkage-type unit along with updated front forks which are shorter as compared to that on the Bonneville T120.
The electronic package on the Triumph Bonneville Bobber has been retained from the T120, and incorporates ABS, riding modes (Road and Rain), ride-by-wire, switchable traction control, and a torque-assist clutch. The bike will be made available in four colour options, namely Morello Red, Stunning Competition Green and Frozen Silver, and Jet Black. The new motorcycle also gets over 150 genuine accessories, including the high âape hanger' bars. The company hasn't revealed the launch date and price of the motorcycle yet, however, its market arrival can be expected soon with a price tag near that of the Bonneville T120.
According to the speculations, Triumph can launch the new Bonneville Bobber soon in India as well, like it has launched the recently unveiled Bonneville T100 in the country.
