Ghazal maestros Pankaj Udhas, Talat Aziz and Anup Jalota, along with many others have put together a special festival titled Khazana, as a tribute to the legend, KL Saigal
Sixteen musicians have taken out time from their busy schedule to put together a Ghazal festival called Khazana, for the benefit of cancer and thalassemia patients. Pankaj Udhas, who was instrumental in organising the two-day event, admits that it has been a mammoth task to get so many artists under the same roof, but he adds that it is undoubtedly worth it as the proceeds of the concert will go to the Cancer Patients Aid Association and the Parents Association Thalassemic Unit Trust.

Khazana, which started in 2002 as a festival to promote Ghazals, soon grew in popularity and has now become a much-awaited annual event. This festival is a way to popularise Ghazals and it also serves as a platform for budding artistes. "Every year, we introduce two new artistes. It gives them the opportunity to perform with renowned singers," says Udhas.
Apart from Udhas, the artistes performing in this festival include Rajendra Mehta, Bhupinder Singh, Mitali Singh, Pandit Ajay Pohankar, Abhijit Pohankar, Ustad Rashid Khan, Anup Jalota, Talat Aziz, Ahmed Hussain, Mohd Hussain, Jaspinder Narula, Richa Sharma, Kavita Seth, Pooja Gaitonde and Kaamod Arbedwar.
This year, the festival pays a tribute to the yesteryears singer KL Saigal. So, you will get to hear classics like Jab Dil Hi Toot Gaya, Baalam Aaye Baso, Gham Diya Mustaquil among other evergreen ghazals.
