Around 5,000 Dhol-Tasha players will pay a musical tribute to Swami Vivekananda on his 150th death anniversary. "Swami's thoughts were an inspiration to the youngsters," says Parag Thakur, co-ordinator of the competitions of Dhol-Tasha groups and one of the founders of the Dhol Tasha Federation.
People from more than 120 different groups will be participating in the event from all over the city. The main attraction of this event is the versatile drummer Sivamani who will attend the event.
Thakur added, "We have started this project over the last few years and this gives the Dhol-Tasha players a big boost as they get to perform in front of Sivamani. After this performance, Sivamani himself will perform for 30 minutes and then there will be a jugalbandi of the performers with Sivamani."
