Rich fabric, gold overtones and Shimmery outfits jazzed up the mood on day three of Synergy one Delhi Couture Week
Brides were back in focus on Day 3 of Synergy One Delhi Couture Week. Bling obviously, couldn't have been left far behind. The collections showcased a contemporary bride. Manish Malhotra brought in something for the men which was missing so far. Rich fabrics, distinct Indianness and jewel tones were back in favour. We bring you a recap. Read on:
Adarsh Gill
Fitted silhouettes and and jewelled tones marked Adarsh Gill's Autumn Winter Couture collection. There were saris and gowns, lehengas, short dresses, beaded jackets worn with cigarette pants which have been jazzed up using beads, crystals, sequins and pearls.

The theme was retro represented in a modern and sophisticated manner. She used rich fabrics like French laces, brocades, georgettes, French lames, taffeta, chiffon and lace. The colour story revolved around oranges, midnight blues, blacks, golds, pinks. Gill also used a lot of cutwork.u00a0u00a0u00a0
Anju Modi
Maya was what Anju Modi called her collection which is a translation of the word on the runway. The fabrics were handwoven with zardozi work amd mukeshwork done on them.

There were flowy skirts and lehengas. Ivory was the dominant colour with bursts of blues, blacks, golds and maroons. There were lehengas worn with broad belts and velvet hemlines and worn with long jackets.
Ashima-Leena
Vintage seduction was designer duo Ashima-Leena's theme. Gossamer silks were combined with gold brocades. Titled Adaa, the collection was distinctly Indian. The designers used brocades, georgettes and transparent sheer fabrics.

The silhouettes were layered and comfort factor was kept in mind. There were saris and lehengas in colours like emerald greens, pinks, purples, beiges and reds. Models wore Peshwaz over ghagras, drapes over churidars and khada dupattas wrapped over ensembles. Sharmila Tagore walked the ramp as the showstopper.u00a0
Shantanu and Nikhil
The ramp was decked up like a garden for the Delhi based duo's showcasing. The modern bride was the focus of the collection titled Perfume. Shatrughan Sinha with his wife, Aman and Ayan Ali Bangash were spotted in the first row. There were lehengas, gowns, saris in cocktail silhouettes.

The structure was fluid and feminine. "Theu00a0 collection merges vintage Indian thought process with contemporary silhouettes," said Shantanu. Fabrics used were French laces, satins, silks, nets. The garments -- in colours like whites, salmon, aqua blues, blacks, dusty oranges -- were jazzed up using rosettes and shimmers. Sonakshi Sinha walked the ramp in an ivory jacket styled gown.u00a0
Manish Malhotra
Bollywood's favourite designer took the focus back to the men for the first time this Couture Week. "The bridegroom should also look good," he quipped after the show.

For the would-be brides, Malhotra designed heavily sequined shararas and gararas while for men it was angrakhas and sherwanis. Long quilted coats were worn with churidars. The collection showcased the contemporary bride who also loves her old world charm. Fabrics used were organzas, nets and velvets with Rajasthani gota, chikankari and Kashmiri work done on them.
