To raise awareness about conserving such plants, the Rotary Club of Thane is hosting Here On Project Environment (HOPE), an exhibition of 425 photographs by wildlife photographers covering categories of wild plants such as Endangered, Insectivorous, Ephemeral, Orchids, Medicinal, Endemic, Exotic, Parasitic, Trees, Himalayan and Wild Flowers.u00a0
The exhibition will show some endemic flora of the Western Ghats, which was recently declared by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. At the event, two new books by scholar Shrikant Ingalhalikar will be released on August 18, 7 pm.
Book lovers can also buy copies of the book Matheran - A Practical Guide, which will be available at the exhibition venue. The book includes rare facts and details about the flora and fauna of Matheran, which is considered as one of India's tiniest hill stations.
