Imagine supporting a cause as you bite into your favourite cupcake. Cake It Away and deliverychef.in are encouraging you to do just that while you order cupcakes, where 25% of the total bill will go towards the Japan Earthquake and Tsunami Relief Fund, facilitated by an international news channel
Aditi Talreja, director of Deliverychef, hopes that Mumbai's cupcake lovers will unite for a noble cause. Shaken by the aftermath of the deadly earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan earlier this month, she has initiated a unique channel to help people do their bit as citizens of the world.
Aditi tells us of how it took shape --"I was watching the coverage of the devastation in Japan relayed by an international news channel, who have set up a relief fund to help victims of this natural disaster. The minimum contribution that one can make is $ 25 (US).
We are hoping to collect a tidy sum from the sale of cupcakes, thanks to our association with Cake It Away. Every time a person places an order for cupcakes using Deliverychef.in, 25% of the total bill will go towards the Japan Earthquake and Tsunami Relief Fund. We will make a one-time donation with the amount raised from this initiative."
People can choose their favourite cupcake from a range of flavours available on the site including Choco Swirl, Mint Choco Chip, Strawberry Frills, Kool Kiwi, Cinn Apple, Banana Split, Coffee Delight, Black Forest, Very Cherry, Orange Twinkles, Grape O Mania, Blue Ice and Majestic Mango.
