A fund-raising event will see Taal Inc. Rhythm Ensemble and Hrishikesh Centre of Contemporary Dance come together, for the welfare of animals

The Taal Inc. Rhythm Ensemble and Hrishikesh Centre of Contemporary Dance join hands to present a high energy drum and dance performance titled Rhythm & Movement with a Conscience. The fund raiser event has been organised for the benefit of animal welfare activities by The Blue Cross Society of Pune. Taal Inc. Rhythm Ensemble is a community of musicians while Hrishikesh Centre of Contemporary Dance, has been pioneering its way through contemporary dance and movement-based work in India.


Rhythm and movement with a conscience

Says Hrishikesh Pawar,u00a0 "My students will be performing contemporary dance to the sounds of the ensemble. It is going to be our first performance with live music." There will be a story line for the performance and it's about going with the music. "It will be an impromptu performance and only certain pieces have been choreographed,"

he adds.
The event will feature the Taal Inc. Rhythm Ensemble, which comprises of Varun Venkit (Djembe and Vocals), Agneya Chikte, Dhir Mody, Bipin Revankar ((Djembe),u00a0 Amar Kulkarni (Sangban),u00a0 Abhijeet Jejurikar (Dununba), Solonie Singh Pathania (Kenkeni), Gandhaar Amin (flute) and Yamini Lavanian (Vocals). They will be playing traditional West African folk music.

Varun Venkit of Taal Inc. says, "Contemporary dance and African folk music is a deadly combination to watch for. We have high energy music as well as subtle music so it is going to be a nice contrast."
