Haute'em offers a myriad mix of jewellery picked from all over the world. this weekend, Drop by for a peep into a uniquely crafted range
For many of the city's young and chic women Colaba Causeway is a haven for junk and funky jewellery especially when our purse strings are tight. But quality sometimes gives us a miss despite the stall owners stocking everything from hot on international ramps bibs or Bollywood's favourite chandelier earrings.
Two such young professionals, Pooja Dangat and Amrita Vora decided to take things in their own hands after they got fed up of the mindless bargaining and broken hooks to set up Haute'em.
Barely a month old, Haute'em jewellery line, Haute'em's range includes bracelets, neckpieces, cuffs, bangles and rings sourced from Philippines, Brazil, Hong Kong and many eastern European countries. The resultu00a0-- a colourful and fashion forward collection that can be worn with anything, be it sarees, summer dresses for a brunch or short dresses for an evening out.
The present line has colourful enamel bracelets, pearl baubles, metallic and acrylic cuffs in gold and different colours, chunky and beaded neckpieces. We especially loved their pearl neckpiece (Rs 2,000) from Austria, which would look stunning when worn with a sari and yet equally classic on a hot black number dress. Their rope neckpieces are quite unlike anything one usually spots in jewellery stores around town.
