Another such structure is Electric House, headquarters of Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport. When electricity was still a novelty, the building housed a ‘showroom' to advice customers on electrical appliances and convince them to use electricity (including special irons for the city's dhobis).

But after the growing number of employees, BEST constructed the BEST House next to it in 1936, the first fully-airconditioned building in Mumbai.u00a0
