Social media giant Facebook rolled out some new updates for the Desktop versions of it's WhatsApp and Messenger Apps
Social media giant Facebook rolled out some new updates for the Desktop versions of it's WhatsApp and Messenger Apps. According to a report by The Financial Express, users can now do voice and video calls directly from the apps instead of closing them and calling their friends on the Facebook and WhatsApp lists through the browser.
If the person the user is trying to call is active, the button becomes green and the call can be made just by tapping it. This is currently a beta release, which will only be available for limited users.
This update comes after the Facebook Windows app allowed users to record and share Live broadcasts from their desktop and tablet. The desktop versions of WhatsApp and Messengers aren't as robust as the Android and iOS versions. Facebook rolled out this update last week itself.
Also, WhatsApp's web wrapper was updated to 0.2.2234. The update includes new features like...
- Searching within a chat
- A button to share animated gifts
- Ability to browse shared images
- Some User Interface improvements
Earlier this month, WhatsApp introduced a new set of enlarged emojis for its userbase on Android and iOS, a move that was met with strong criticism on social media.
Whatsapp has also added new camera features which will allow users to write and draw on photos and videos as well as add emojis to them. Once a user captures a new photo or video or shares one from their phone, they will automatically see the new editing tools. The new features will roll out on Android phones at the present moment and iPhone soon.
