In the course of celebration and festivities, if you have forgotten to take care of your diet and health, we are here to remind you of some simple ways to stay fit and glowing during the festive season

The festive season has already knocked at the doors and Diwali is just round the corner. You may be busy with your last minute shopping and beauty treatments. In the course of your time if you have forgotten to take care of your diet and health, then we are here to remind you of some simple ways to stay fit and glowing during the festive season:

1. Drink adequate water: Keeping yourself hydrated before and during the festive season is the rule of thumb. Make sure that you drink at least 10-12 glasses of water daily to keep your system hydrated. Drinking water results in glowing skin, helps keep blood pressure under control, helps to reduce unsaturated fat from the body and prevents dryness and dehydration.

2. Workout to stay active: Do not miss regular workouts even during the celebration time. A jog, brisk walk or exercise early in the morning help you stay fresh and active throughout the day. You may also get extra energy to indulge in the celebration. Burning those extra calories will keep you fit from inside and outside.

3. Maintain healthy food platter: Stock up your refrigerator with fresh fruits and vegetables. You will surely consume a lot of deep fried and junk food during the festival time. So in the meantime, make sure you eat green salads, boiled vegetables, eggs, freshly cut fruits, nuts and juices. These food items will keep you satiated and prevent consumption of excessive junk or packed food.

4. Control food portions: Rather than eating excess food at one time, it is good to eat small portions at regular intervals. Doing so will control hunger pranks and will ensure that you do not have an empty stomach. Carry small portions of fruits, nuts or items like sandwiches, boiled corns or salads while you are out for celebrating with friends and family.

5. Remain focused throughout the festive season: Never go out hungry, focus on what you eat outside, do not forget to exercise daily and control consumption of alcohol, sweet items and deep fried spicy food. Carry a water bottle or fresh juice while travelling. Make sure you sleep for at least 7-8 hours even during the festival time. It promises a fit body and a fresh glowing skin.

We request you to follow these tips with determination. Then even after the festival, you will be able to stay fit and healthy without putting on extra calories and walking with a bulging tummy. Happy festivity!
