From shore to Kishore

Conceived by Manish Newar, this remix album is a tribute to the effervescent compositions of the legendary Kishore Da.

Comprising eight evergreen hits such as Ek Ladki Bheegi Bhaagi Si, Ek ajnabi Haseena Se, 'Chhookar Mere Mann Ko, Saamne Ye Kaun Aaya and Raat Kali Ek khwab, this album tries to recreate the magic, but doesn't not quite succeed.

Though the compositions are infused with sound, somewhere, the magic of the original soundtrack which we all have grown up listening to, is missing. We don't even blame Newar, because the original numbers are so soulful that remixing them can harm them instead. But what is commendable on the part of the artist is the fact that he has been able to maintain his individuality and doesn't end up imitating Kishore in his singing. An average buy.
