Stand-up comedy as a genre is developing a fan base across the country. This week, at High Spirits you will get to watch a variety of artists from across the country performing live.
The line-up features performers such as Keshav Naidu and Gursimran Khamba while Daniel Fernandes will be the host of the show.u00a0Gursimran Khamba, a Mumbai-based comedian who is originally from Delhi, will be performing for the third time in the city.
Talking about his journey as a stand-up artist, he informs, "My journey started in 2009 thanks to my blog, which I was writing regularly. After reading my write-ups, people told me that I had a comic touch and advised me to enter this field.
Now here I am after three years. When I perform for any audience, I keep an open mind. Though I do not include any social message I try to touch on current affairs and issues pertaining to families and people across the country through my gigs."
He feels that the Pune audience is well aware about trends and what's happening around the country. Stand-up comedian and host of the show, Daniel Fernandes seconds Khamba: "Lately, the comedy industry is maturing and especially over the past one year, it has proliferated.
The market is offering new opportunities to the otherwise neglected genre and people are ready for such things. We are expecting city audiences to attend and encourage the performances."
The event will feature individual acts by each of the artists. So, if you want to get a good dose of comedy to brush away the worries of life, don't miss this opportunity to laugh out loud.
