We are always eager to review new takeaway haunts, as we understand the importance of having one near the office. Aye Dios Mio (ADM, that translates to Oh My God from Spanish) piqued our attention and so we dropped by to pick up a small brunch for a hectic work day.
Located in a quiet lane near Bombay Hospital, the kitchen that occupies half of the space of this Italian-Mexican joint, was busy rustling up dishes for its takeaway orders. On offer are pizzas (also available by the slice), pastas, salads, wraps and sandwiches, and some interesting options such as Taco and Lasagna Cupcakes!
We ordered a Texmex Pizza (Rs 175 for 10 inch), Classic Panini Sandwich (Rs 175) and a Fusilli Pesto (Rs 165). ADM got off to a good start with the pizza, which made for a healthy Mexican pizza with beans, lots of lettuce, tostada chips and a spicy dressing. The good streak continued with the pasta, which was our favourite from the lot with its rich basil flavour and a quantity that made it worth every paisa we paid.
The panini, with crisp fries on the side, was full of peppers tossed in a creamy, spicy sauce. Despite being quite filling and bursting with flavours, we found it a tad expensive; also, we would have loved some experimentation with the bread.
With an expenditure of just above Rs 500 for three dishes, we think ADM is a place to order from when you are craving a pizza but don't have much to shell out and its Slice Pizza ('50) should find takers among the college crowds nearby as well as among those looking to cut down on calories.
