Ever since its launch, Google's Pixel phones have been in headline of technology news and smartphone industry. The premium pricing of these Pixel phones have brought them in direct competition with Apple's Phone 7 and Samsung Galaxy S7 series.
The latest buzz around town is that both the Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones do not come with expanded water resistance feature. If a report citing Google representatives is to be believed, then the reason behind this is time crunch that Google faced to bring the product in the market.

Both Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones are IP53 rated. This means that both the phones have minor dust and water resistance features. This does not mean that the phones will fully survive when submerged in water. â5' in IP53 means that the phones' innards are not likely to be damaged by dust and â3' here means that the devices will not be damaged from water intrusion if they are held at an angle within 60 degrees from the vertical.
The missing water resistant feature of Pixel and Pixel XL definitely hampers the overall package of these premium smartphones. Apple and Samsung have added the water-resistant feature in their smartphones. Apple's iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus and Samsung's Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge can stand immersion in water in different depths for up to 30 minutes.
