Hit the ice with air hockey

Having grown-up on 16-bit video games with simple visuals with an engaging game play, Air Hockey Deluxe brought those childhood memories back.

Only this time, instead of the joystick and large B&W TV, I was playing on my touchscreen colour LG Android phone, using my thumb to navigate a glowing mallet.

Air Hockey Deluxe is a hassle-free, low memory consuming simple yet addictive game where two mallets (navigated by two players, in single player mode, you play against the computer) push a puck towards their opponent's goal post to score goals on a table.

Your mallet also works as the goalkeeper and each can move only till the centre of the table. Each time the puck or the mallet hits the border, you see a glow-ey current running through the effect, which I think, is awesome.

The first to score seven goals wins the game. The Air Hockey Deluxe, created by Words Mobile comes with six tables. The two-player mode allows you to play with a friend on the same device.

Perhaps, an online mode would have been more exciting. The visuals are fantastic and since it runs fine on my LGP500, it should work fine on any Android phone. We loved that the app can be moved to the memory, thus saving loads of space.
