These days, the home decor landscape appears to be dominated by three themes - Indian kitsch, simple and classic European designs with heavy price tags, and cheap but functional imported furniture. But Magnolia, a new home decor store in Worli begs to differ.
Started a month ago by young lawyer-turned-furniture enthusiast, Maulika Gandhi, Magnolia stocks home accents that are notu00a0in-your-face Indian kitsch but also exudes subtle humour and a certain Indian-ness.
"Every product is made in India. It was a conscious effort. The vintage furniture is sourced from different places from across India. I love vintage furniture so all the products are either restored pieces or made of fit the theme," says Gandhi. What we love the most about the store is that the price range is flexible and one can end up buying an interesting curio for as low as R800.u00a0
At Hansraj Pragji Warehousing, ground floor, next to Tata Service Centre, off Dr E Moses Road, Worli Naka.
