If you're looking for a quick bite into a pizza and are in Powai, Pizzaroma might be a worthwhile stopover. But, for every other reason, we believe there are better options in the area

We were surprised to find this new small pizza outlet opposite a really famous outlet of a pizza chain. Buoyed by the obvious confidence, that perhaps they might have something different to offer, we thought. After spending an hour there, we had to revise judgment.

Pizza Sandwich was a unique idea

Located inside a popular mall, Pizzaroma's small size, with eight bar stools for seating didn't really impress. Nor did the picture of the Colosseum of Rome that adorned one of the walls. We walked in at 9 pm, and we were the only customers at the pizzeria. Nobody had added to the customer count until we left Pizzaroma at 10.30 pm.

We seated ourselves but couldn't help wondering whyu00a0 there are bar stools in a pizza place? If you want to welcomeu00a0 customers for dinner, wouldn't you like for them to sit comfortably and enjoy a relaxing meal? When we looked at the menu, we noticed several options for vegetarians and non-vegetarians too, which was refreshing.

Pizzorama had two pizza sizes to choose from: 10 inches and 13 inches. They had two options of dips ufffd Pesto Dip and the Spicy Dip. Strangely, options in crusts were missing. So, if you don't like thin crust ed pizzas give Pizzaroma a miss.

Amont the vegetarian options, we chose an Americana Slice (Rs 136) and opted for Pizzaroma Special Slice (Rs 112 and Roma Chicken slice (Rs 101) for our non-vegetarian companions. The slices were not too big: 5" x 7", the staff informed us.

The Chicken Pizza was a bit bland, likewise was the case with the Americana; it wasn't cheesy enough. Cheese lovers may not find too many options here. The Pizzaroma Special with pesto was a good choice. In fact, it proved to be the star of the evening All the pizza eating had rendered our throats parched ufffd a coolant was the need of the hour.

After choosing our preferred juice from the menu, we were informed that none were available since the eatery didn't have a refrigerator except for a few fizzy drinks. Strange.u00a0u00a0With room for one last entr ufffde ufffd we opted for the Pizza Sandwich (Rs 90) that came recommended by our attendants. Much like the others, it was just about average.
