There may be some confusion whether Lollypop Deli is a delicatessen or a fine-dining restaurant but what you can be sure of is good service and great food at this new joint in Khar
They say it always pays to be first and this proved to be true for us as well. As the privileged first customers of Lollypop Deli, a restaurant located at a short walking distance from Khar railway station, we not only got great service but also free desserts.
As soon as we entered Lollypop Deli, we were told that we were the first customers and a smiling staff led us to our seats. We made ourselves comfortable and an attendant was by our table the very next minute asking us if we would like something. It was nice to have their undivided attention and the moment one of us looked up seeking help, an attendant leaped into action.
Paneer Satay
After browsing through their four-page menu, we settled for the Greek Salad (Rs 109), Paneer Satay (Rs 99) and Prawns Charmula (Rs 149). The food looked really nice and we noticed that the chef likes to pay a lot of attention to presentation. The Paneer Satay served with peanut sauce was simply delicious. The prawn starter was yummy too. The Greek Salad, which was not as innovative as the rest of the dishes, fell a little short of our expectations but was nice, nonetheless.
Their cocktail menu boasted of many signature cocktails and we opted for a Lollypop Water Melon (Rs 250) and a Lollypop Lemon (Rs 250). Simple cocktails with vodka and juices, they tasted nice.
We got back to the menu card after whiling away some time and ordered for the Chatuchak Fried Rice (Rs 119), a recommendation by the staff. The dish with steamed rice and vegetables in Schezwan sauce scored full points. Too full to try out any more dishes, we decided to skip dessert, till the time the chef walked up to us and said they would like to offer us a complimentary dessert. The stuffed pancake with coconut sauce was delicious. Very happy and satisfied, we left the place promising the staff that we will revisit the place and we are sure we will.
