Two Indian bands Bombay Bassment and Swarathma may perform alongside Rod Stewart, Stevie Nicks and Bon Jovi at Hyde Park, London if they secure enough votes in the Battle Of Bands
Hard Rock Calling 2011 at Hyde Park, London will see performances by Rock 'n' Roll greats like Rod Stewart, Stevie Nicks, Mike & the Mechanics, James Walsh, Barenaked Ladies and Bon Jovi amongst a total of 40 other much-loved rockstars. The musicians will perform across three days,u00a0from June 24 to 26, and four amateur bands, selected from across the world, will get to share stage with them.
Swarathma
This is the third year that Hard Rock Calling has been organised, but it is the first time India has participated in the annual event. "We are looking to promote Indian talent and the selected bands from India will get to perform on an international platform. It will be a stepping stone in their career," says Amit Keswani, Vice President, JSM Corporation, which manages the Hard Rock Caf ufffd brand in India.
In order to select the bands, a Battle of Bands was organised in all the cities where Hard Rock Caf ufffds are present and in India, from the hundreds of participating bands two were selectedu00a0-- Bombay Bassment from Mumbai and Swarathma from Bangalore. Among 40 bands from 168 cities, four will be selected to perform at Hyde Park based on popular votes.
So, if you want to see an Indian band perform on an international stage, cast your ballot right now as voting closes on April 24. "We hope to see the Indian bands performing and we want to continue encouraging Indian talent year after year," says Keswani.u00a0
