Greenland and Tibet are just two of the 'greatest places' on earth that will be featured in a 70-mm documentary by the same name. Regular screenings in English, Hindi and Marathi will be held from this weekend onwards

The Nehru Science Centre will screen a new science film titled The Greatest Places at their Science Odyssey Centre.

The Greatest Places is a 70-mm film projected through a fish eye lens on an 18-m (in diameter) spherical dome that takes audiences on a geographical odyssey to seven amazing locations, including Greenland for its giant icebergs, Tibet's Chang Tang Plateau and Iguazu's tremendous waterfalls in Brazil.

The film also portrays Nature's enduring power and explores beautiful landforms, complex ecosystems, and the rich cultures of the indigenous people that are intrinsic to the places they live.

While diversity is the theme of the film, the film explores the idea that Nature and human nature are what unify us as a planet.

The premier screening on Friday will be inaugurated by Bittu Sahgal, editor of Sanctuary Asia.
Screenings will be open to the public from Saturday onwards. There will be eight shows a day in Hindi, Marathi and English.
