Check out an exhibition of rare film posters at the NFAI
Movie lovers are in for a rare treat as they can catch a glimpse of film posters, ranging from black and white prints to the colour era. The National Film Archive of India (NFAI) has organised an exhibition of rare film posters dating back to 1969. It will be held at the heritage building Jaykar Bungalow in the Law College premises.
The exhibition will include posters of some of the greatest hits in the history of cinema, including films that were recipients of the Dadasaheb Phalke Award (1969 to 2010). Film makers Bimal Roy and Uttam Kumar's film posters are also on display.
According to Prashant Pratrape, director, NFAI, the poster exhibition will give an insight into the colossal contribution of Dadasaheb Phalke awardees to the growth and development of Indian cinema.
"An effort has been made to display rare posters, of the stalwarts of Indian cinema, which have not been showcased in our earlier exhibitions," he said. Also on display will be write-ups about the contribution of filmmakers.
