In this workshop, children will not only learn to cook but will know how to sit and eat it
Don't be surprised if your eight-year-old daughter advices you which spoon to use for dessert. According to S Singhal, director of ILEAP Academy, a city-based skill development school, providing knowledge about dining skills and etiquette, it should be an essential part of growing up.

In the workshop titled International Cuisine & Etiquette, Singhal and her co-trainers will teach a batch of 15 children between the ages of 9 to 15 years these softer skills.
"These skills are not taught in school but are important. If I visit Paris and take my child to a restaurant, I don't want to be embarrassed about my child not knowing how to use silverwares," says Singhal.
Singhal shares that nowadays most parents belong to the corporate world and children end up visiting foreign countries. Through workshops like this, Singhal hopes that children learn skills to conduct themselves at restaurants or social events.
They will be taught how to sit, shake hands, dining etiquette and more. Each day in this five-day long workshop, children will also get a chance to prepare a dish from various cuisines like South American, Chinese, Thai and Italian among others. However,u00a0 the cooking will be fireless and children will try desserts like French Truffle and more.
"Every day for two hours, they will participate in fun and knowledge driven sessions. Cooking also brings out the creativity in them. By applying these skills, children learn to enjoy when they visit new places," states Singhal.
