Lately, corruption has become synonymous to the Indian political system. India ranks 87th on the World Corruption list, but it looks like we haven't done much activism to shift is up the ladder. This Wednesday you will have a chance to see the young angry youth of India fight against it in their own unique way. Kamani Auditorium is featuring a play named Yuvrang, directed and written by Siddharth Madan which deals with the cancer of corruption that is spreading in our nation.

Participants listen intently to the director's instructions

Team speaks
The director says, "The time has come for all of us to stand against it and say ab ya to tum rahoge ya ham rahege, because we can't take the burden of corruption anymore," said the director. "This play speaks to the youth and that is the reason I chose young students from schools and colleges to play the actors. I don't think people like Ramdev are doing right by mixing their personal views with country's development. This way they can never bring a change but the infancy of today can," adds the director.

The protagonist Archit Krishna who is currently studying in a school in south Delhi, states "YUVRANG stands for Colors of the youth. By this play we want to show that this time we should take a stand for ourselves. Many people are rallying today but nothing constructive is coming out of it. We can fight against corruption only if we have will power that we want to live in a corruption-free society."

Eager audience
Ashima Dhawan is one among many Delhiites who are eager to see the play. A student of Journalism from IP University, she speaks out, "There is no foreign element that is promoting corruption in our country but people like you and me who are promoting it by not standing up against it. Corruption starts from the grass root level, right from getting your child admitted in nursery to admitting someone in hospital. I would love to watch because they have use young guns to portray the characters. This sounds fresh and interesting."
