Picturing a school going child with no bulky school bag is a task only for generations of yesteryears. As the world gets tech savvy and multimedia projections become the norm in classroom teaching, e-books are a thing of today. Tackling that, studyebuddy.com is an online bookstore / library that lets you download, purchase and curate e-books, be you an institution or a student, all as per your needs.
Recently started by Nizam Ahmed, owner of the initiative, the e-bookstore is clued in with apps for both iOS and Android devices. "I have been in the publishing industry for the last 17 years, heading the company DiTech. I felt that it was time to introduce e-books to the educational segment in India which is huge and growing," shares Ahmed.
These e-books, as of now, are available for IB, ICSE and CBSE curriculum in the school segment, a key focus area for the website.u00a0Claimed to be India's first educational e-bookstore, the website has interactive components such as a book club and webinar (still in development) encouraging student participation on the website. "We have all the top 10 publishers and 50 in total in our catalogue till now," informs Ahmed, who emphasises that to stay ahead of the game, the organisation curatesu00a0e-libraries for educational institutions as well.
"We have subject matter experts who can take, let's say a few subjects to be emphasised upon and create supplementary and reference material along with good reads," he states. The coolest bit is that once in the e-library, you access a book to create notes and bookmarks - all that if willed, can be shared across a wide range of users.
Other segments that might be interested by this website are those who are either pursuing medical, engineering or management studies. Bonus, being the entrance exams category loads your handy device with books that just might crack the entry code for you. Press the click button, now.
