The eighth edition of Winter Dance Festival brings you the combo of Indian and contemporary dance forms in a dynamic style

If you want to ignite your passion for dance by exploring a myriad of dance forms simultaneously, here's a golden opportunity for you in the form of a workshop conducted by Liz Lea.

Liz, who has specialised inu00a0 contemporary and classical Indian dance and martial dance, will run a six day workshop which would result in a creative mishmash of theu00a0 forms.

"I love merging the beauty of the three dance forms. It's interesting to see how expressive your movements can become using different dance forms," says Liz.

Trained in Sydney and London, she now lives between the two cities, travelling and teaching internationally. She is the Associate Director at Liz Lea & Company in Australia.

She has performed and held workshop in India several times before. Currently Liz is working on a dance project with Mallika Sarabhai, inspired by Bharat- natyam, which she has incorporated into her choreography. "I don't think everyone can do the fusion easily but I would still encourage them to participate in the workshop.

However they have to be formally trained in some dance form to take part in the workshop," reveals Liz. The workshop will start with a warm up session moving on to stretching and eventually creating movements and demonstrating them at the end of the session.

"The workshop is for two hours, I don't have the luxury of taking theory classes. We will just dance," explains Liz. So if you want to witnessu00a0 Bharatnatyam combined with martial arts narrating the Australian saga and adventure on road, it's time you put on your dancing shoes.
