This festive season dig into sumptuous Bengali fare at the Suryaa
This festive season dig into sumptuous Bengali fare at the SuryaaHow many times have you ordered Tapandar phuchka and Metiaburuj localer jhalmuri for starters? Never? Well, the first one is mouth-watering Kolkata gol gappa and the second stands for spiced puffed-rice snacker.

Both are part of the special menu being served at Seven as part of a Bengali food promotion at the Seven at Suryaa.
This was followed by Dharmatala depot telebhaja beguni which are piping-hot frittered brinjals. If you have been to Bengal or know its culinary traditions then you would know that Bengalis live to eat.

Fittingly, the Niramish thal at the Seven had luchi, alur dom, cholar dal, payesh (delicious thali with puri, lentils, potato and kheer).
Most diners would have let out happy burps after a meal like this. But we were not the ones to leave the restaurant without trying out everything in the menu!
So it was time for New market dimmer devil/ beeter chop (that's egg or beetroot cutlets for you.) A complete meal in itself!
We finally let out our very own happy burps! But there were other delicacies in offer as well.

The Bara bazar kosha mangsho-luchi (exotic lamb with fluffy puris) and Aminia chicken rezala with paratha (mughlai chicken preparation) as well as Mangsho diya gughni (m ufffdlange of curried white peas and lamb).
End this with Mishti and you would have turned into a true blue Bong!
