With faster fingerprint recognition and 8MP camera for selfies, both devices are set to become the season’s hot favourites
V3 Max
Both the V3 and V3 Max (above) display a similar looking metal body, but the V3 Max feels smoother than the V3
The V3 Max comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920x1080) display and features Qualcomm's Snapdragon 652 octa-core processor. It gets 4GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. Powering the device is a 3,000 mAh battery with support for quick charge 2.0. The V3 Max also supports split screen function for multi-tasking.
The V3 on the other hand features a slightly inferior octa-core processor, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 and a smaller 5-inch HD (1280x720) display. The RAM for the V3 is also lower at 3GB along with 16 GB internal storage. Powering the V3 is a slightly weaker battery with a capacity of 2,550mAh.
Both devices get a uniquely designed speaker grill and mini USB port
Both, the V3 Max and V3 are 4G-enabled devices and feature fingerprint sensor placed at the back, which Vivo claims, takes just 0.2 seconds (0.5 seconds in standby mode) to unlock. Both devices also feature sturdy 13MP (rear) and 8MP (front) cameras along with Hi-Fi audio chip (AK4375), we have seen in previous Vivo smartphones. The devices run the Funtouch OS 2.5 based on Android 5.1 and feature a full metal body made of magnesium-aluminum alloy.
Unfortunately, while Vivo claims the V3Max will support split-screen, there's no clarity on the same for the V3. Both devices support dual sim cards, but while the V3 Max gets a hybrid sim card adapter, the V3 comes with a separate slot for MicroSD card. Also, while the V3 Max's display gets Corning Gorilla Glass protection, it has not mentioned the type of protection available for the V3. Vivo, however, is yet to finalise a date for their availability in India. Expect more details soon.
