Looking for a smartphone that falls between Rs 15,000 to 25,000? Hassan M Kamal picks the coolest options, starting with the just-launched Moto G4 Plus
Moto G4 Plus
Rs 14,999
If you are not the type to run after a Rupee difference, the Moto G4 Plus will make for a great starting point in the 15k-25k range. The device which was launched yesterday features a 5.5-inch Full HD display with a Qualcomm S615 processor, 3GB Ram and 32GB built-in storage. It also gets a 16MP camera and fingerprint scanner at the back. The device has a 3,000 mAh battery, and to spice things up, Motorola has added turbo charging which gives six hours backup in 15 minutes of charging. An alternative choice would be the Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016) sold at Rs 15,990.

Vivo V3 Max
Rs 24,999
Though often discredited as an expensive iPhone knock-off, the Vivo V3 Max is built to last. We like its brilliant 13MP camera and really fast fingerprint scanner. It gets a slightly weaker Qualcomm S615 processor, but the 4GB RAM and 32GB built-in storage makes up for it. The 3,000mAh battery also lasts for a day and more. As a bonus, the device gives Hi-Fi music, something not available in this range. An alternative choice is the OnePlus 2 (64GB) that retails at Rs 22,999 on Amazon.

Xiaomi Mi5
Rs 24,999
For R25K, you won't get anything better than this. Though it has a few bugs largely due to poor Google apps integration, the Qualcomm S820 SoC and 3GB RAM, coupled with a Full HD display, 3,000mAH battery and a full metal body, makes it our favourite choice in the 15k-25k category. As a bonus you get Infrared blaster and a fingerprint sensor. The built-in storage is 32GB. There's a 128GB version too that will be unveiled soon.

Google Nexus 5X
Rs 23,900
If you want to see Android OS Marshmallow v6 at its best in an equally beautiful design, the Google Nexus 5X is the best option for you. Made by LG, the Nexus 5X features an equally impressive hardware featuring Qualcomm 808Soc, 5.2-inch Full HD display, 2GB RAM, 16GB built-in storage, 5MP selfie camera and most importantly, a fingerprint sensor at the back. An alternate choice is the Huawei Honor 7 that features a 5.2-inch FHD display and a fingerprint scanner at the back for R22,999 on Flipkart.

Samsung Galaxy A5 (2016)
Rs 24,900
Though priced on the higher side, the Samsung Galaxy A5 (2016 edition) is a great option for those looking for a mobile with a great display (the 5.2-inch AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass 4 protection is stunning) and battery life along with the reliability of Samsung. But that's not all. Its 1.6GHz Exynos processor offers decent gaming performance too. The device comes with 2GB RAM and 16GB built-in storage, and supports 128GB external storage. The A5 also gets NFC. Alternatively, you could also pick the Samsung S5, whose 16GB model now retails as low as Rs 17,999 (on Flipkart) and also features a fingerprint print scanner.
