Designed by an Indian hardware start-up, Frodocam may just be next big thing for adventure lovers
Designed by Indian hardware start-up NexGear, Frodocam has been dubbed as India's answer to the GoPro. And based on the promotional videos that we have seen so far, the camera offers a set of unique features, including a unique algorithm that automatically edits the video into a shorter length. It also comes with a strap band, which allows you to mount it anywhere, be it on your wrist, your helmet, around your neck or to a tree.
It also weighs light at 110 g, and can capture 1080p videos at 30fps. It comes with a wide 120-degree field of view and can take still photos (3264x2448 pixels) as well. The makers claim that the camera also comes with a really fast boot-up time of 0.7 seconds, allowing one to turn it on instantly to capture the action. Though the battery isn't replaceable, it can offer 1.5 hours of running time, and can be extended up to five hours using an external battery pack. It is available in 16GB and 32GB models with a 64Gb model to be released at a later stage. Deliveries of Frodocams will commence around November 2016.
