Shahid Rafi, Shaan, Anand Raj Anand and Aishwarya Nigam will pay tribute to the legendary musician Mohammad Rafi, on the occasion of his 31st death anniversary
This Sunday, relive days of yore while listening to Mohammed Rafi classics like Pukaarta Chala Hoon Main, O Haseena Zulfowali and Tum Jo Mil Gaye sung by popular singers Shaan, Anand Raj Anand and Mohammed Rafi's son, Shahid Rafi. The performance has been organised as a tribute to the legendary musician on the occasion of his 31st death anniversary, which falls on July 31.
Mohammad Rafi Academy, which was formed a year ago, has organised the concert in memory of the singer. "This is the first time MRA has organised a show for dad. We are excited as well as nervous and we really hope it is a huge success," says Shahid Rafi, chairman of MRA. This Sunday also marks the inauguration of the Mohammad Rafi Cultural Academy, which will attempt to give members the opportunity to be a part of the great Indian musical culture through live events and gatherings.
Shahid Rafi, who will be singing evergreen favourites like Chaand Mera Dil and Badan Pe Sitare feels that it is difficult to emulate his father however hard he tries. "Dad was gifted. He put his soul into music. He was so talented, yet so humble. I haven't heard a single person say anything against him. It is very difficult to be like him," he says.
