Design historian and curator Tom Wilson will speak about how India can be understood through design

Using writings and curating as a tool, the talk aims to explore how India is perceived and can be presented to a wider audience.

A lecturer of Critical and Contextual Studies at London Metropolitan University, Wilson was responsible for cataloguing and digitising the permanent collection of the Design Museum in London.

He will be in conversation with designer-writer Ruchita Madhok, one of the contributing authors of Create Change, a graphic book, which featured 12 inspirational stories of design from across India, and will also be released at the event.

Both Wilson and Madhok were recently curators-in-residence at the National Institute of Design in Ahmedabad, where they put together a show featuring NID's archival pieces, and will bring in their experience with design writing at the talk.
