Vodafone India announces free incoming on national roaming from Diwali

Telecom operator Vodafone India announced free incoming calls on national roaming for its entire customer base from Diwali. This move by Vodafone came as a counter threat against Reliance Jio free phone call offer.

According to Vodafone India, Director - Commercial, Sandeep Kataria, the free incoming offer on national roaming will ensure that Vodafone customers do not think twice while travelling out of their cities. From this Diwali, Vodafone customers will not be charged for incoming calls while roaming nationally and they can talk without cutting short on conversations. However, outgoing charges will be applicable on national roaming.

As of now, a majority of telecom operators charge a tariff for availing free incoming calls during national roaming.
