After revealing that WhatsApp will stop supporting smartphones with older Operating Systems next year, the Facebook-owned instant-messing client has now announced that it will extend support for BlackBerry and Nokia devices, thus giving users extra time to update their devices to Apple or Android
After revealing that WhatsApp will stop supporting smartphones with older Operating Systems next year, the Facebook-owned instant-messing client has now announced that it will extend support for BlackBerry and Nokia devices, thus giving users extra time to update their devices to Apple or Android.
According to Express.co.uk, WhatsApp support for BlackBerry and Nokia phones, were although going to end in December, an extension has been granted on the date.
WhatsApp has said in a blog post about supporting the following phones and operating systems till June 30 2017:
- BlackBerry OS
- BlackBerry 10
- Nokia S40
- Nokia Symbian S60
However, some will lose support in a few weeks. They are...
- Android 2.1
- Android 2.2
- Windows Phone 7
- iPhone 3GS/iOS 6.
