From mridangam to sitar, and from pakhawaj to mesmeric vocals -- The Music Summit with Great Masters, an annual music evening by Kala Sangam, promises to be a treat for the connoisseurs of Indian Classical music.
Scheduled to take place this Friday, the programme will comprise two segments. The first will witness a confluence of Dr Umayalpuram Sivaraman on mridangam, Pandit Bhawani Shankaron pakhawaj and Pandit Anindo Chatterjee on tabla, while the second segment will be a confluence of Ustad Rashid Khan's
powerful vocals and Ustad Shahid Parvez's spellbinding sitar notes.
Kala Sangam is an organisation that presents, preserves and promotes Indian Classical music through various festivals. It was started in Kolkata in 1973 with the legendary vocalist Ustad Amir Khan as their founder president.
